What repos are trending on GitHub?

The biggest change this week was the arrival of Odysseus, which entered at No. 1 with more than 2,000 weekly stars.
Microsoft’s MarkItDown also made a notable jump, rising from a new entry at No. 9 last week to No. 2.
AI agent projects remained a central theme, with Hermes Agent climbing back to No. 3 and several skills- and automation-focused repositories holding positions in the top 20.
New entries included Headroom, VoxCPM and Hermes WebUI, while repos such as FreeDomain, RuView, OpenHuman, English-level-up-tips and Claude Plugins Official fell out of the rankings.
Understand-Anything experienced the sharpest decline, dropping from first place to eighth.

Star growth metrics also give a window into developer demand, highlighting shadow IT that developers might be experimenting with. Experimenting with fast-growing repos can introduce security vulnerabilities, so knowledge of repos in-high demand can help direct the attention of security teams. The top repo list, in aggregate, can also show what types of projects overall are gaining traction in the developer community.
